Where do bed bugs come from?

The answer to this question is simply anywhere that you can sit, lay of stand.

The nuisance of bed bug infestation is a global problem every major city in every country has a bed bug problem. They are transported by people in and on luggage and on clothing. Bed bugs are assisted in their quest to conquer the world by airlines who freely transport bedbugs any destination.

In the UK, over recent years, particularly badly affected are Hotels, B&B's and Guest Houses, this will only get worse.
The main cause of the global infestation of bed bugs is caused by increased travel and general mobility of the world's population.

For example prior to the 2000 Olympic Games Sydney didn't have a bed bug problem but now it is reported that almost every hotel in Sydney had signs of infestation following the 2000 Olympic Games, highlighting the fact that this is truly a global issue. The millions of visitors to the 2000 Olympics brought bed bugs to Sydney and they stayed long after the visitors departed.
It has also been reported that because the Sydney bed bug issue was not immediately dealt with than over 80% of all hotels and short term accommodation in Australia has at least 1 infested room!
Since the Sydney Olympics in 2000, the number of cases of reported Bed Bug infestations in Australia has risen by 15,000 per cent.

This will happen in London in 2012!

The prediction is this will happen to London and then the UK in 2012 where the biggest race following the 2012 Olympics will be how to avoid the inevitable Bed Bug infestation in London and then the UK.

London and then the UK will be one big uncontrollable Bed Bug infestation as London plays host to 11,000 athletes from 205 countries, 20,000 representatives of the world's media and over millions spectators from every country around the world; and then there is the Paralympics!

Bedbugs are the world's best hitchhikers and these unwanted guests will be carried to London and the UK by unknowingly by attendees.

When all the visitors to London have gone home we will be left with a bed bug infestation of epidemic proportions in Britain created by the millions of bugs expected to be transported on the clothing and luggage of people travelling to the 2012 Olympics
